The seventh Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in the Americas and the Caribbean is being held this week. The forum aims to raise awareness of the increasing economic and human cost of disasters in the Americas and the Caribbean, including the special challenges facing small island developing States (SIDS).
