Sun, Sand and Sustainability: The Way Forward for Caribbean Tourism

The Caribbean Policy Research Institute (CAPRI) with the support of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) will be presenting the findings of its report that compares and contrasts the perspectives of different stakeholders in the Caribbean tourism ecosystem with respect to COVID-related survival, recovery, and transformation of the sector. The stakeholders interviewed were purposively selected primarily from St. Lucia, Barbados, and Jamaica given the relatively high dependence on tourism in these countries, while making references to other similar Caribbean nations.

Just Under $25M Compensation For Aggrieved Citizens Affected By Riverton Fires

Just under $25 million dollars is to be paid out to SEVERAL aggrieved residents who sued the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) for their suffering resulting from fires at the Riverton disposal site in St Andrew in 2012 and again in 2015. Information minister Fayval Williams gave an update at Wednesday’s post cabinet press brief.
