The Ministry Education, Youth, and Information has informed the nation that $4.3 billion dollars has been allocated to primary, all-age, and junior high schools for the 2021-2022 academic year. Olympian Christopher Taylor is back home in Jamaica. Taylor, a former Calabar high school standout, is the first Jamaican male to make an Olympic 400 meter final in 17 years finished sixth in a personal best time of 44.79 seconds. Carol Francis has more on this rising athletic star in this report.

The Central Bank on Monday minted Jamaica's first batch of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).
As legal tender, CBDC can be exchanged dollar for dollar with physical cash.
