The Jamaica Council for Persons with Disabilities (JCPD) is working towards being an autonomous body so as to better ensure the rights of its members are being upheld. To this end persons living with disabilities are being encouraged to register with the entity. $50M Small Ruminant Development Programme To Boost JA's Food Security @Aug 25 2021 01:37 PM
Agriculture and Fisheries minister, Floyd Green, - recently launched a $50 million National Small Ruminant Development Programme at the Hounslow Research Station in St. Elizabeth. The programme is geared towards rapidly increasing the population of primarily goat and sheep, thus increasing the local production, productivity and quality of small ruminant meat and milk. Mr. green is also urging farmers to embrace technology in a bid to expand Jamaica’s small ruminant sector.
