Insurance Is A Must For Fisherfolk

Fishermen have an important role in Jamaica’s food security. Fishery products also contribute to the country's foreign exchange earnings. Fishing activities carry a high risk of accidents, In the past fishermen in Jamaica did not readily have access to insurance products designed specifically for them. That has changed. Fishermen now have insurance that protects and empower them. Marlon Samuels reports

Gov't Pushes Ahead With Broadband Initiative Despite COVID-19 Setbacks

The government’s goal is to have universal internet access on the island by 2030. The advent of COVID-19 has given greater impetus for this goal as the country’s broadband needs have increased. Speaking from the floor of the parliament on Tuesday Science, energy and technology minister Daryl Vaz gave an update on the government’s plans.
