Earth Ambassadeurs Cleans Up Port Maria Coastlines

Jamaica has been celebrating National Environmental Awareness Week which started on June 2. The week of activities has springboard into other events.
Earth Ambassadors, which is a local organization which is committed to protecting the environment, has embarked on a journey of their own to clean up the coastlines. They were in port Maria last Saturday, Melvin Pennant was on location and filed this report.

Debate will continue on the Criminal Justice (Suppression of Criminal Organizations) (Amendment) Act, 2021 commonly called the anti-gang legislation.
Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of National Security, Senator Matthew Samuda who opened the debate on the Bill on Friday, explained how the amendments are intended to strengthen the Anti-gang Act, while including appropriate safeguards, to bring it up to its full potential as a legal tool the justice system.

Teachers Over 60 Urged To Get Vaccinated

Teachers, especially those over 60 are being urged to get vaccinated. The appeal came at a virtual town hall meeting on Friday. Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Education Youth and information minister Fayval Williams discussed vaccination and sanitization in the school system. The goal is to re-open schools come September.
