Minister of Labour and Social Security, Hon. Pearnel Charles Jr., provided an overview of the damages he witnessed during his tour yesterday (July 6) of south Clarendon, particularly in the communities of Rocky Point, Portland Cottage, and Mitchell Town.
These areas were severely impacted not only by Hurricane Beryl but also by the recent heavy rainfall caused by the Tropical Wave.
Minister Charles stated that residents will receive immediate relief in the form of food packages, blankets, tarpaulins, hygiene kits, and other assistance for the elderly, disabled, and those who are alone.

CLARENDON POST-BERYL
Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, alongside Minister of Labour and Social Security, Hon. Pearnel Charles Jr., toured the communities of Rocky Point, Portland Cottage, and Mitchell Town in Southern Clarendon today (July 6) to assess the damage caused by #HurricaneBeryl.
Many families have been displaced as their roofs are missing, homes have either collapsed or been flooded, and numerous light posts have been broken.
These communities are now without cell service, water, and electricity.
The fisheries sector is among those that have been deeply affected by the hurricane.
The PM and Minister Charles Jr. assured the residents that provisions would be made to help those in need.
