Jamaican authorities are concerned about reports that some countries are not accepting proof of COVID-19 vaccines being administered by developing countries. Health Official Warns Public To Buy Meat Only From Licensed Sources @Sep 22 2021 02:39 PM
Supermarkets have replaced butchers as the primary suppliers of meat. However many Jamaicans still opt to buy fresh meat, pork, mutton, beef from local butchers. An unlicensed butcher operating from an abattoir or slaughter house with poor hygiene standards can result in the contamination of meat and the spread of disease. Chief Veterinarian within the Veterinary Services Division Dr. Osbil Watson is cautioning Jamaicans to purchase meat from licensed butchers only.
