The purpose of this discussion is to foster a collaborative dialogue among key stakeholders to identify strategies and actions that will support the creation of an inclusive Jamaica, in which persons with disabilities are empowered to participate fully in national development. Key Stakeholders: 1. Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) 2. Disability Advocates 3. Trade Unions 4. International Partners (UNICEF) 5. Disabilities Rights Tribunal 6. Special Olympics 7. Early Stimulation Program (ESP) 8. Jamaica Council for Persons with Disabilities (JCPD) 9. Media Practitioners I AM ABLE Campaign is committed to ensuring that persons with disabilities are provided with reasonable arrangements and accommodations across all sectors of Jamaican society. Through this initiative, we emphasize the importance of creating an environment where accessibility is not just a requirement but a core value. The campaign seeks to drive efforts that provide necessary accommodations in key areas such as education, employment, and public life, ensuring that individuals with disabilities can thrive without barriers. For instance, in the workplace, reasonable arrangements such as assistive technologies, modified workstations, and flexible hours are essential to empowering persons with disabilities to excel in their roles. In educational settings, schools are encouraged to adopt inclusive practices, offering accessible materials and specialized teaching strategies to ensure that every child, regardless of ability, has an equal opportunity to succeed.
