The Ministry will host its third virtual town hall (VTH) meeting under the theme ‘Restorative Justice’ (RJ). RJ has been part of the Jamaican Justice System for 10 years with over 18 RJ offices island wide. Since its introduction, the programme has returned high successful case resolution rates yearly. The VTH meeting will provide updates on the RJ programme, its contribution to case backlog reduction as well as how individuals and communities are being impacted. Justice Minister, the Hon. Delroy Chuck; Chief Parish Court Judge, His Honour Mr Chester Crooks; and Coordinator of the Restorative Unit at the Justice Ministry, Ms Andrienne Lindsay will be the main speakers.
